Acute, longstanding and preventive concerns require different rhythms and review points.

In brief

Why is an exact number rarely credible at the outset?

There is no universal session count. Simple measures improve follow-up.

01

The situation sets the rhythm

A recent problem, longstanding condition and preventive visit do not follow one timetable. Frequency also depends on severity, other treatment, early response and what is realistic for the patient.

02

Define indicators

Choose observable measures such as nights waking, pain days, walking tolerance, rescue medication or fatigue. These make trends easier to judge without attributing every day to the last session.

03

Know when to stop

If agreed goals do not change, discuss modifying, spacing or stopping treatment and whether further medical assessment is needed. Saying the body is resisting is not enough.
